Course Information: This course provides key State Staff with updated information on the disaster assistance process and disaster assistance programs. The focus is on management issues the State Coordinating Officer (SCO) may face in relationship with Federal, State, local and Tribal partners in the Joint Field Office (JFO).
Course Goal:
Prerequisite: IS-208 State Disaster Management, completed through the Independent Study Program.
Course Length: 4 full days. Travel days are Sunday and Friday.
Audience: State EMA Staff who have disaster management responsibilities such as designated State Coordinating Officers, Deputy SCO, Individual Assistance officers,
Public Assistance officers, State Hazard Mitigation officers, State Public Information officers, and others with disaster management assignments. Approval of the State EMA Director is required.

CEU’s: EMI awards 2.9 CEU’s for completion of this course
To Apply: Complete a FEMA Form 75-5, General Admissions Application with student signature and signature of supervisor or sponsoring agency official.
