2007 EMI Gram: 709 - Independent Study Beta Version; Beta IS130, Exercise Evaluation and Improvement Planning

Release Date: 4/25/2007

Subject:  Beta Test Extension to June 1, 2007

As announced in the March 2007 HSEEP newsletter, the G-130 course has been revised and will soon be available as an IS course. The revised title is IS-130: Exercise Evaluation and Improvement Planning. This course will address the capabilities-based exercise evaluation methodology as described in HSEEP Volume III. The course will focus on the evaluation of an exercise and include evaluation best practices as described within the existing G-130.

Stakeholders are invited to beta-test the web-based course at http://hcs.icfi.com/FEMA/EXEV/. A survey is available through this site for feedback on the course. The deadline for collecting beta-test feedback has been extended to June 1, 2007. Additionally, if you have any comments or questions, please email Tracy Esparza at tesparza@icfi.com.

Once the Beta test is completed, feedback assessed, appropriate modifications will made to the Beta version.  The final course will also include support for a classroom version of the course.  This course offering will be an important part of the overall National Standard Exercise Curriculum (NSEC) and a requirement for individuals who apply to the Master Exercise Practitioner Program (MEPP).

If you need more information on NSEC or the MEPP, contact Lowell Ezersky, MEPP Manager, email lowell.ezersky@dhs.gov, phone 1-800-238-3358, extension 1355 or (301) 447-1355.
