E212 Unified Hazard Mitigation Assistance Course

Course Description:

This course will enable United Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grant applicants and sub-applicants to develop eligible mitigation projects and submit successful applications.

Course Goal:

This course is designed to education participants on the process of developing quality mitigation planning and project activities for the Unified Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grant programs. It will clearly explain and apply mitigation projects; prepare and submit successful grant applications; and identify Unified HMA programs that could fund mitigation plans and projects.

Course Length:

This course is 5 days in length. Travel days are Sunday and Saturday.

Target Audience:

The course is intended for the following: personnel of local jurisdictions, tribal governments, and private non-profit (PNP) organizations that are eligible applicants for United HMA grants; State mitigation staffs responsible for assisting Unified HMA sub-applicants; FEMA employees assigned to Grant Program Implementation Division, local grant coordinators/administrators; project implementation managers; mitigation administrators; emergency managers; financial managers and planners.

Prerequisites:

E393.A – Introduction to Hazard Mitigation course.

Continuing Education Units:

EMI awards 2.8 CEUs for completion of this course.

To Apply:

Complete a FEMA Form 75-5, General Admissions Application with student signature and signature of supervisor or sponsoring agency official. Submit the application through the State emergency management training office who will fax it to the National Emergency Training Center Admissions Office at (301) 447-1658.
