You are invited to participate in the 2013 Virtual National Training and Exercise (NT&E) Update Symposium.
Purpose:
This concise virtual update symposium will be held in lieu of the traditional National Training and Exercise conference annually held at the Emergency Management Institute. Due to the government’s mandates under sequestration, this update symposium is offered to still provide constituents with key information that would have been provided at the annual conference.
Summary
2013 Virtual National Training and Exercise Update Symposium - The NT&E Update Symposium provides the opportunity to discuss lessons-learned, best practices, national priorities, capabilities, and doctrinal changes. Highlighted guest speakers include FEMA Deputy Administrator Richard Serino discussing Training and Exercises Lessons Learned from Hurricane Sandy on 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, Dr. Keith Holtermann discussing the National Training and Education System at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, and Donald “Doc” Lumpkins discussing the National Exercise Program on 3:15 p.m. Tuesday April 16. Their firsthand accounts will provide valuable insight to the National Preparedness Goal’s mission areas of Prevention, Protection, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation.
