Course Description:

The course is intended to provide an overview of the basics of the Mission Assignment (MA) Process starting with the request for Federal assistance through MA Closeout.

Course Objective:

  1. Define a Mission Assignment (MA), MA types, and common terms.
  2. Describe the process of completing the Action Request Form (ARF).
  3. Provide an overview of the MA process.
  4. Describe program and financial management components of the MA process.

Prerequisite:

None.

Course Length:

The overall time to complete the course will vary for each individual. IS-293 takes approximately 2˝ - 3 hours.

Target Audience:

This course is intended for program and financial staff who share the responsibility for Mission Assignment issuance, execution, billing, reimbursement, and closeout. This includes Comptrollers/Financial Specialists, FEMA Finance Center (FFC) staff, Mission Assignment staff, Project Managers, and other Federal agency (OFA) Program and Finance staff.

Continuing Education Units: EMI awards 0.2 CEUs for completion of this course.
