Position Specific course descriptions and FY 2010 on-campus class schedules now available on line
Course descriptions and FY 2010 class schedules for the new NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position Specific training program are now available on the EMI website.
NIMS ICS Position Specific training is designed to provide all-hazards competencies and behaviors for the eight Command and General Staff positions and select unit leader positions. The competencies in the training are focused around the ability of the student to assume the position responsibilities, lead assigned personnel, communicate effectively, and to ensure the completion of assigned tasks to meet identified objectives for the position.
NIMS ICS Position Specific training should be completed by personnel who desire to eventually be certified as members of a Type III Incident Management Team (IMT), or who desire to seek credentials/certification in ICS Command and/or General Staff or Unit Leader positions.

Notice of Date Change for two NIMS ICS Position Specific train-the-trainer Courses!
Please be advised that the original class schedules for Rounds 2 and 3 of the NIMS ICS All-Hazard train-the-trainer contained an error in the dates scheduled for the E-963 Planning Section Chief and the E-968 Logistics Section Chief classes.
The number of days required for these two classes were inadvertently transposed, and the class dates should read as follows:
Round 2 train-the-trainer:
E-963 – November 2 – 3, 2009
E-968 – November 8 – 10, 2009
Round 3 train-the-trainer:
E-963 – April 19 – 20, 2010
E-968 – April 25 – 27, 2010
The corrections have been made with EMI Admissions and on the EMI website, but may also need to be made on some of your personal schedules. Please make a note to do so!
